In 2005, Phillip Nel started experimenting with the idea of SA’s own monster trucks, after watching several overseas monster truck shows.

Nobody in this country has ever seen these huge vehicles, or taken a ride in one of them in SA.  Of course, those who know Phillip, knows that he likes the idea of always “being different”.  He got  hold of a green Landrover Discovery II, and started with a paint job changing the colour to bright red.

The monster trucks are driven by teenager Stephan Nel. Stephan has been driving the monster trucks since he was 7 years old, barely reaching over the dashboard when sitting in the driver’s chair. Stephan’s first car crush with the monster truck Carnage, was done at the young age of only 13 years old.  Stephan is the only teenage monster truck driver in South Africa, and we are very proud of what he has done behind the steering wheels of these monsters.
